A Horrible Way to Dice is a 2010 American horror picture show directed and edited past Adam Wingard, written by co-producer Simon Barrett, and starring A. J. Bowen, Amy Seimetz, Joe Swanberg, Brandon Carroll, and Lane Hughes. The story follows an escaped serial killer as he chases downward his recovering alcoholic ex-girlfriend who is responsible for his incarceration. The motion picture had its world premiere at the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival Vanguard program where information technology was picked up for distribution by Anchor Bay Entertainment.[1] It as well played at Fantastic Fest[2] where it received 3 major awards: All-time Screenplay for Simon Barrett, Best Actor for AJ Bowen and All-time Extra for Amy Seimetz.[3]
Plot [edit]
In rural Missouri, serial killer Garrick Turrell (A. J. Bowen) escapes from police custody and immediately resumes taking the lives of strangers while searching for his ex-girlfriend, Sarah. Meanwhile, having met at group therapy for recovering alcoholics, Sarah (Amy Seimetz) and Kevin (Joe Swanberg) begin to develop a tentative human relationship. As the body count builds, Turrell makes his way to Sarah's new location just equally she seems to be getting her life in social club.

A Horrible Way to Die was released on DVD and Blu-ray Disc in the United states on September six, 2011. Bonus materials include audio commentary with managing director/editor Adam Wingard and writer/producer Simon Barrett and a Backside The Scenes of A HORRIBLE WAY TO DIE featurette.[13]
Critical reception [edit]
The review-aggregation website Rotten Tomatoes reports a score of 60%, with an boilerplate rating of 6.four out of 10, based on 10 reviews from critics.[14] On Metacritic the picture received "Mixed or average reviews", with an overall weighted boilerplate score of 52 out of 100, based on five critics.[15] Dennis Harvey of Multifariousness wrote that the pic is "strongly reminiscent of Henry: Portrait of a Series Killer" just lacks that film'due south touch.[xvi] Jeannette Catsoulis of The New York Times called it "a restrained, ripely atmospheric thriller that relies more on mood than on special effects".[17]
